Southeastern Guide Dogs School to Host Open HouseAttention, dog and puppy lovers! Southeastern Guide Dogs will host an Open House Saturday, June 28th, between 9 a.m. to noon at its beautiful, wooded 23-acre campus in Palmetto. The event is free and open to the public. The Open House will feature tours of the puppy and training kennels with plenty of opportunity to hug a puppy. You’ll learn how guide dogs are trained and the valuable service they provide to visually impaired people. Southeastern’s dog trainers will also demonstrate how guide dogs navigate an obstacle course. And visitors will have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to walk blindfolded with a trained dog. Southeastern Guide Dogs is one of only 10 fully certified guide dogs schools in the country. The school is just minutes off I-75 in Palmetto at 4210 77th Street East.
