Library Features Band of Gold Exhibit

Elrita Basak and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Keiper, 5, view the various Largo High School Band of Gold uniforms on display at the Largo Public Library on a recent afternoon. The uniforms are part of an exhibit which honors the 1978 World Marching Band Champions and the 1968-80 Robert Cotter era. There are also videos of the 1978 World Championship Field Show and World Concert Band Performance and congratulatory letters from then President Jimmy Carter and Governor Rubin Askew along with a variety of other memorabilia. The Band of Gold also held the title of VFW national champion in 1971.
