A 2 1/2 month-old kitten named Louie welcomes the attention of (pictured l-r) Jackson, Becky and Jay Honnold at the Save Our Strays, Inc. adoption outlet at the Petsmart in Largo on a recent Saturday morning. Louie was one of many felines available for adoption that day. Save Our Strays is a humane, no-kill, non-profit organization. It operates with the support of volunteers. There are no paid employees. The organization has medically assisted and adopted out over 8,000 cats and kittens since January of 1995. Volunteers are always needed. Duties include transporting cats to a veterinarian or an adoption site, manning booths at fundraisers and providing foster care for the animals in their homes. More information on the organization may be obtained by calling (727) 481-5091.
