Citizens Academy Meetings to Begin in SeptemberCLEARWATER - Applications are being accepted for the 7th Annual Clearwater Citizen’s Academy. The Citizen's Academy meets Tuesday evening for ten sessions, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 2, 2008. Elected officials and city staff host these unique and informative sessions giving citizens hands-on experience in city government operations. Participants learn about the city's budget process and how the city spends its money; see how the city's TV station works; visit the Clearwater Airpark, Sailing Center, and other city facilities; see a SWAT team demonstration; and learn what happens to their trash.
