Add Your Voice to Crowded Roads and StreetsClearwater streets join the rest of the county and the rest of the Tampa Bay area as being crowded and frustrating at peak hours and other times. Road building and alternative public transportation always seem about 20 years behind the level of service we expect. It is the number one complaint of residents to government at all levels. Our bay area is only one of two in the Top 25 metro areas in the nation that does not have some form of commuter transportation system. Public rail systems in some form have been chosen by citizens in the other 23 metro areas to take cars and SUV’s off the roads and streets. A new big picture analysis is now underway that is action oriented. Citizens are being included in providing their feedback and possible solutions for long term fixes. The focus is on more choices of transportation and improved regional connectivity with neighboring communities and counties. An initial round of evaluating several alternatives has begun. You can jump in and share your perspective. You are especially invited to a workshop to help our area catch up by reviewing the early plans, drawings and speaking out. Mayor Frank Hibbard serves on the regional planning team, so come and share your ideas.
