Charity Tennis Tournament to Benefit the Animals at Humane Society of PinellasCLEARWATER – The Humane Society of Pinellas is pleased to announce its 15th Annual Charity Tennis Tournament, in memory of Shannon Morton, will be held Sept. 24th through Sept. 28th at Royal Racquet Club in Clearwater. On Wednesday, Sept. 24th, the pre-tournament Warm-up Party will be held. Food will be provided by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. The party is free for registered tournament players and guests are welcome for $15 per person. Last year there were over 250 players and more are expected this year! The tournament format is Women’s, Men’s and Mixed Doubles – Levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Open (5.0 and above). Play will be 2 sets with 3rd set match tiebreaker (10 point) for both main draw and consolation. Finals will be best 2 of 3 sets for both main draw and consolation rounds. Entry fees are $45 per person for one event and $65 per person for two events. The entry fee include a raffle drawing, door prizes, silent auction, goodie bags, awards for winners, semi-finalists and consolation winners, tournament T-shirts and tennis towels. Adult play will run from Friday, Sept. 26th through Sunday, Sept. 28th. There will be complimentary refreshments available all days of play. Junior Fun Night will be held Friday, Sept. 26th from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for kids ages 4-18. There will be plenty going on to entertain everyone! Junior Fun Night includes a tennis carnival featuring a wide variety of tennis racquet and skill games along with other activities. There will be prizes for all participants, and remember, no tennis experience required! There is no charge for this evening of entertainment that will also include a pizza party, but registration is required and limited to the first 50 who register.
