Award-winning clowns Yo Yo and Topsy, second and fifth from left, are pictured with previous graduates of their clown school and others who stopped by their table at the City of Largo's recent Recreation Expo at the Highland Recreation Complex. The clown duo, also known as Jerry and Connie Yarbrough, were on hand to provide information on their fall clown course, which begins September 6 at the Largo Community Center. Clown makeup, character development, costuming, juggling and balloon sculpting are among the topics covered during the eight-week session. Interested persons may call 517-4244 for details. Purpose of the expo was to familiarize the public with the various activities, programs and sports leagues available to them throughout the coming year.
Members of Nancy Hill's zumba class perform at the City of Largo's Recreation Expo on August 23. Zumba is a high energy cardio workout to the rhythms of Latin and international music. Classes are scheduled at the Highland Recreation Complex each Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 518-3016.
