Letter to Mayor Frank V. Hibbard - New library hours

My name is Marisa Soriano I am eleven years old.  I am very unhappy about the new library hours that take effect in October.  The library is a place of books for all ages but kids and kid books are very important.  Those books can extend a kid’s vocabulary, help them on papers, and lead one on a adventure in their own home.  By making the library hours shorter and shorter less people will be able to come to the Clearwater libraries.

I would like the libraries to stay open longer in the evening and be open Mon-Sat.

To: 'Marisa Soriano

I am happy to see you care enough to write and tell us about your love of our libraries.  We love libraries too, but we have also heard from many of our citizens that want to pay less in taxes and so we have reduced the number of hours at many of our libraries and recreation centers.  Fortunately all five of our libraries are staying open and you and your parents should always be able to find one that is open.

- Frank V. Hibbard ?Mayor, City of Clearwater ?
