Fiscal prudence, pay raise letter sent to Largo Mayor and CommissionersThank you for your stewardship with regard to providing services to our great city. I would like to address the issue of raising your pay, during this time of economic hardship that the nation is currently experiencing. (Loss of jobs, living paycheck to paycheck, fixed income of elderly and disabled and the list goes on). In most cases you have practiced fiscal prudence, however, in this case, I agree with Commissioner Mary Gray Black. It just isn't a good time to give yourself a pay raise. I do however endorse, the continuation of scheduled conferences and meetings, with an increase in hotel and gas mileage. I hope you will take this in the spirit of advocacy that it is meant.
