
October 6 is the Deadline to Register for November 4 Primary ElectionPinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark is reminding county residents that Monday, October 6 is the voter registration deadline to vote in the November 4 General Election. Registration is available during regular business hours through October 6 at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, driver license office or any government office handling social services or disabilities. All three elections offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 4 as an extra convenience to citizens wishing to register or update their voter record. Applications are also available online at www.votepinellas.com by clicking on Register to Vote. “Registering at your local public library offers additional evening and weekend hours for voters to pick up and complete a voter registration application,” Clark said. “Libraries are available to accept registration applications through close of business on Monday, October 6 for the General Election.” For additional registration locations and events, visit www.votepinellas.com and click on Voter Registration Events under “What’s New.” Registration is required by October 6 for new voters. Florida registered voters who have moved to Pinellas County can make an address change through Election Day. Citizens who are already registered to vote are encouraged to update any name, address or signature changes prior to Election Day to avoid delays at the polling place. Address changes within the county may be made by phone. Other updates may be made by completing and signing a Voter Registration Application with the changes noted. This General Election will be the first presidential election conducted on the new optical scan voting system with paper ballots, as required by a new state law. Any registered voter may request a ballot by mail by calling (727) 464-6788.
