
Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers Gulf Coast Chapter to Host Legislative Meet, GreetCLEARWATER – The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers (FAMB) will host its annual Legislative Meet and Greet on Thursday, October 16 at the Feather Sound Country Club, located at 2201 Feather Sound Drive, Clearwater. This event is open to the public and will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Candidates running for office representing Pinellas and Pasco Counties including Florida House Districts 44, 46, 48, 51, 52, 54, 55 and 60. Candidates in attendance include: Rep. Gus Bilirakis, US Congress, (FL-9); Rep. John Legg, Florida House of Representatives, (D-46); Rep. Peter Nehr, Florida House of Representatives, (D-48) and Rep. James Frishe, Florida House of Representatives, (D-54). This opportunity allows for the local constituency to meet and greet their candidates vying for positions at the local and state level. There will be a formal program where candidates will give brief details of their respective campaigns as well as a roundtable forum for discussion where candidates will answer questions about Florida’s economy and the housing industry. The FAMB Gulf Coast Chapter will also host continuing education course FS494, worth four CEU’s from 1 to 5 p.m. The course will review significant changes to FS494 that became effective as of October 1, 2007. Brokers and lenders are required to complete this course biennially by the State of Florida in order to renew their license.
