The Haven of RCS Recognizes National Domestic Violence Awareness Month With 7th Annual Faces Luncheon

CLEARWATER - The Faces of Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon is designed to educate our community about domestic violence, its impact on all areas of life and the social change needed to end domestic violence. The event will take place on October 21, at the Harborview Center and will last exactly one hour. Doors open at 11:30 and lunch begins at noon.

The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Jackie Pierce, General Federation of Women’s Clubs 2006-2008 International President. During her tenure as president Jackie promoted awareness and prevention of domestic violence as the main project of the GFWC.

Every year there are over ten thousand reports of domestic violence in Pinellas County. Additionally, domestic violence costs American businesses $727 million annually in lost productivity. Everyone is invited to this very important event to raise awareness about domestic violence. Business leaders are encouraged to come learn how they can make a difference.

Although the cost of the event has been underwritten, donations will be accepted at the event to benefit The Haven of RCS Domestic Violence Center which provides safe shelter, legal advocacy, and outreach services for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Reservations are available by calling Loretta Sanders at (727) 441-2029.
