Largo Fire Rescue Open House & 9th Annual Chili Cook-Off
Octo. 11th, 4: p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Largo Fire Station 41
180 4th ST SW. Have you ever wanted to ride in a fire engine? Would you like to see the “Jaws of Life” in action? Then attend for the 2008 Largo Fire Rescue Open House and 9th Annual Chili Cook-off! This family event will also feature fire station tours, extrication demos, presentation by Largo Smuppets, K-9 demos and lots of fun! The evening’s feature is the 9th Annual Chili Cook-off, with teams from the city of Largo competing for the title of “Best Tasting Chili”. Come sample them all. Donations are gratefully accepted, and all proceeds benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida.
The Open House will be held Saturday, October 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Largo Fire Rescue Station 41, 180 4th Street Southwest, in Downtown Largo. Parking will be available across the street, in the Pinellas County School Board parking lot.
5th Annual Tampa Bay Buddy Walk
Oct. 11th, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive. This co-sponsored event is a one-mile walk around the park to promote the awareness of Down Syndrome. The day includes lunch, entertainment, games and arts and crafts for families.
