Join in the Pinellas Coastal Cleanup 2008 FinaleVolunteering can be fun! Come enjoy the outdoors and help your local environment at the same time. Pinellas County Environmental Management & Keep Pinellas Beautiful is partnering in a water-based and land cleanup along Cross Bayou and Joe’s Creek on Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Pinellas County property near 7400 62nd Terrace N. in Pinellas Park. If volunteers have a kayak or canoe they are encouraged to bring them. A few watercrafts will be available, but space is limited. Land-lovers are needed to help, too. To add to the fun and show appreciation to the volunteers for their efforts, lunch and raffle giveaways are planned. The first 50 people to register receive a T-shirt. To help with the cleanup bags, gloves, a map and water will be distributed. Registration is required. To underscore our commitment to environmental protection, all items removed from the waterways will be recycled when possible.
