Recs and Reads
By Anne McKay Garris
Don't forget the Halloween Party, next Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In addition to the games and goodies, this year the Clearwater Beach Library will add storytelling and Halloween crafts. This is a lot more fun than begging candy -- and a lot safer.
Good news! The "Multipurpose Room" at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center is now ready for all sorts of activities. Programs sponsored by the Library will be held there and groups may rent it, during Recreation Center open hours, for $12.50 an hour. After hours it will be more. The writer's support group, the book talk by Linda Hamrell and the Master Gardener series, Growing Things on Clearwater Beach, will all be held in that room. It is considerably larger than we thought it would be and able to hold 45 people when arranged theater style.
A two hour seminar on "Writing My Memories" will be offered on Monday, November 3, from 1:00 to 3:00pm, in the Multipurpose Room. Jan Golden will talk about getting started writing about your memories, or your family history. Because it is sponsored by the Clearwater Beach Library there will be no charge and the public is invited.
