
YWCA to Host Holiday Stuff Swap, Kickoff Holiday Inmate Gift ProjectST. PETERSBURG - The YWCA has partnered up with Transitions and You to host Holiday Stuff Swap on November 15. The event will provide women with an opportunity to cheaply add to their wardrobe by swapping items that they no longer need with other women. Additionally, the event will kickoff the "Holiday Inmate Gift Project", aimed at collecting holiday gifts from the public at large for female inmates at the Goodwill Correctional Facility. Individuals are encouraged to bring gently used or new accessories, clothing, shoes, belts, and purses. Left over items will be donated to the YWCA and the Goodwill Correctional Facility. Additionally, The Story of Stuff, a 20 minute animation of the consumerist society, will be shown. The Holiday Inmate Gift Project will run during the months of November and December. Various Christmas trees will be setup around Pinellas County, where individuals can leave their gifts for female inmates at the Goodwill Correctional Facility. Gifts will also be collected at the Holiday Stuff Swap event. The Holiday Stuff Swap will be held on November 15, from 1 p.m.to 3 p.m. at the YWCA of Tampa Bay, located at 655 2nd Ave. South, St. Petersburg, FL.
