Holiday Lights Brighten Morton Plant Hospital, Benefit Cancer Survivors

Community Invited to 27TH Annual Holiday Lights Celebration

CLEARWATER - Holiday carols sung by Oak Grove Middle School students, hot cocoa, cookies, and a seven-story holiday lights display will all be part of the 27th annual Morton Plant Hospital Holiday Lights celebration.

The community is invited to this free event that celebrates the holidays and benefits Morton Plant Caring Partners – the hospital’s volunteer organization that supports community outreach programs including services for cancer survivors.

The event will be held Wednesday, December 3, 6 p.m., at Morton Plant Hospital, (Main Entrance Parking Lot) 300 Pinellas Street, Clearwater.

A seven-story holiday lights display in the shape of a holiday tree will be lit at the entrance to Morton Plant Hospital. Lighted holiday wreaths will also be displayed on buildings across the hospital campus. For a $5 donation members of the community may honor a loved one by sponsoring a light on the hospital’s tree display. Wreaths also may be sponsored in the name of a loved one for donations of $100 or more. Donations benefit Morton Plant Caring Partners and programs such as Camp Living Springs. The camp is a free, three-day retreat designed to support healing and relaxation for cancer survivors. Each year more than 60 cancer survivors attend Camp Living Springs.
