The IRB Holiday Season is Here
This weekend is the start of the holiday season in Indian Rocks Beach.
Friday night, Dec. 5th at 7 p.m. is the official Holiday Tree Lighting at the park on Gulf Blvd. across from USA Grocers. The city is looking for three volunteers to serve popcorn and hot chocolate. If you would like to help, call Joan at the City of Indian Rocks Beach, 727-517-0404.
Saturday, Dec. 6th is the Post Office's annual Toys for Tots drive. Your mail carrier will be collecting new unwrapped toys. Last year 8,300 children in the area received toys through the Toys for Tots program, in part through the Postal Carrier's efforts.
Sunday Dec. 7th is the annual Holiday street parade. The parade leaves the Chic-A-Si Park area at 1 p.m. Look for them to come by your house sometime that afternoon. The parade will be followed by the Children's party with Santa in the City Auditorium. If you would like to help by donating food, please bring your tray of finger sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, etc. to the city auditorium, at noon on Sunday. The city is still in need of a convertible or two for elected officials to ride in. If you have one they can use, please call Joan at the City of Indian Rocks Beach, 727-517-0404.
Thursday night, December 11th is the Homeowners Association's Holiday Social and annual Toy Drive. They will be in Chic-a-Si Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring an un-wrapped toy for the toy drive, and attend for some Holiday Cheer. There will be a surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and some classic holiday movies will be playing on the big screen. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for a donation. There will be free popcorn and refreshments. This event is in place of Indian Rocks Beach Homeowners Associationís monthly Happy Hour.
