American Legion Auxiliary Post #119 NewsMembers of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #119 in Largo have been active this past season involved with community events and wish to thank all who have given of their time and talents So far all have participated in one way or another volunteering to knit, sew or donate items for our community service. Many lap robes have been contributed to Bay Pines Veterans Hospital and cards and packages have been sent overseas to our soldiers in Iraq for the holidays. Presently the ladies have adopted a nursing home to give extra attention to for the holidays and in the new year by decorating the holidays, and entertaining the residents of the House that Faith Built nursing home, with a Holiday party on Dec. 20th. Much is planned and in the works coming up in January. There will be sponsorship for a student from Largo High School for attending the girls state conference. The American Legion conference for Make a Difference Day for child welfare will be on January 19, 2009. The Largo Legion will have a Christmas Eve get together party, Dec 24th, and a New Year's Eve party with entertainment and food.
