Snow Slide Is Part of "Miracle on Cleveland Street"

Curt of Gainesville Ice, at right, turns blocks of ice into snow in preparation for the "Miracle on Cleveland Street" festival on December 5. The snow was used to fill a 10-ft. slide for toboggan rides which would be offered to youngsters later that day. A snow play area for smaller children was planned as well. The event presented by the Clearwater Downtown Partnership also featured the annual holiday light-up, strolling carolers, Dickens' characters (portrayed by actors from the Francis Wilson Playhouse), gift vendors and appearances by Santa and the Snow Princess.
