City of Clearwater Announces Fall 2008 Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter

CLEARWATER – A Clearwater neighborhood association and four homeowners have been selected by the City of Clearwater to receive Neighborhood of the Quarter and Home of the Quarter awards.

Northwood West Estates Neighbors will receive the Neighborhood of the Quarter award for their perseverence and dedication to improving their neighborhood. Home of the Quarter Awards go to Scott and Pam Williams of 622 Fairmont St., Bruce and Melody Haus of 700 S. Prospect Ave., Jon and Shelia Poling of 1475 Misty Plateau Trail and William and Linda Spencer of 1896 Murray Ave.

The award for Neighborhood of the Quarter acknowledges a neighborhood that has demonstrated community pride through their activities, a decrease in code violations and neighborhood crime, an increase in neighborhood involvement and empowerment, and neighborhood sustainability. Winners receive a certificate, a Neighborhood of the Quarter sign posted at the neighborhood’s main entrance and a photo mounted on a plaque at City Hall.

The award for Home of the Quarter recognizes homeowners that have benefitted their community by maintaining or making significant improvements to their properties. Selected homeowners receive a certificate of appreciation, a bronze plaque, and a Home of the Quarter yard sign.

The awards will be presented at the 6 p.m. Dec. 18 City Council meeting at City Hall, 112 S. Osceola Ave.
