Indian Rocks Beach – The Way Life Should Be
A year in the life of award winning artists, Mary Rose Holmes, Violetta Shtumeyzen and Helen Tilston unveils 60 new paintings - three friends, three views and one vision to record, on canvas life in the barrier island community of Indian Rocks Beach. Seascapes depict life here, where children, dolphins and pelicans play in the same waters. "The beach belongs to everyone" (Mary Rose Holmes). This year several triptychs honor beach entrances. "Beach lovers passionately tell us their favorite beach entrance" (Helen Tilston). "Through the eye, through the heart and on to the canvas" Violetta Shtumeyzen describes her process when setting up her easel to paint. All paintings are original and painted, on location, en plein aire, and on display at Guppy's, 1701 Gulf Blvd. Meet the artists from 6 p.m., Friday, January 9. The show runs through March.
