
Beginning and Intermediate Oil Classes to be Held in BelleairOil Painting Classes for beginners and intermediates are being offered at the Dimmitt Recreation Center in Belleair. Beginning students will learn about paints and brushes, color mixing, composition, values, and the principles of light and shadow needed for successful oil painting. Intermediate students may work from a still life set-up or work on a personal project from a photograph or other source. The class emphasizes traditional oil painting techniques, expressing individual creativity, and learning new skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The class fee is $64 for each four weeks of instruction. No membership is required. Should a student have a future commitment and informs the center at the time of registration, he/she will not be charged for that date. The instructor is Betsy Schoepf of Indian Rocks Beach. Class size is limited. Small classes provide for individual attention. Classes will consist of demonstrations, painting time, and critique sessions. The Beginning Oils Class will be Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The Intermediate Class will continue on Thursdays, 1 to 4 p.m. Classes begin on Jan. 6 and 8 respectively.
