
Big Dog, Cool Cat, Sassy Rabbit DayCLEARWATER - January brings about the feeling of renewal for many of us. At the Humane Society of Pinellas, they are starting off the New Year featuring their long-term residents. On Saturday, January 24th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will be hosting their 3rd Annual Big Dog, Cool Cat, Sassy Rabbit Day. The Humane Society of Pinellas is located at 3040 State Road 590 in Clearwater. The Humane Society of Pinellas is promoting Special Pets In Need (SPIN) There will be ongoing activities throughout the shelter. Informative discussions on humane animal care will be offered throughout the day with their Certified Humane Education Specialist. Find out about basic grooming skills for cats at 11 a.m. and dogs at 1 p.m. The 3 p.m. session will offer 31 ways to be kind to animals. Meet Ann Farmer from Courteous Canine, Inc. for “Ask a Trainer” session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy the ‘Maradonia - Saga Trilogy’ by 14-year-old author, Gloria Tesch, with book signing available! There will also be a dedication ceremony for an Eagle Scout walkway project, Shannon’s Way, which paves the way for their animals’ journey from admissions to adoptions. Refreshments will also be available in the Real Life Room. With proof of valid rabies vaccine and license, the first Microchip Clinic for the New Year will be available from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This will allow current pet owners to have their own pets’ microchipped for only $15!
