Renata Borecki, center, helps son Dylan, 5, at left, and daughter Veronica, 4, create sunflowers out of recycled paper at the make-and-take crafts table at the Largo Public Library on January 10. The activitiy was one of many planned along with live entertainment at The Green Machine: Kids Expo 2009. Children who made an earth-saving commitment at the event received a prize. Youth Services manager Mercedes Bleattler was coordinator of the event.
The eyes of the above pictured children attending The Green Machine: Kids Expo 2009 at the Largo Public Library on January 10 were glued to the characters in the puppet show produced by Linda Lynch and Angela Fornaro of the library's Youth Services Department. The message of the performance, in keeping with the Expo's planet-preserving theme, was: "Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do. Or do without."
