Pinellas Geological Society Hosts 33rd Show

The Pinellas Geological Society held its 33rd annual Gem, Jewelry and Mineral Show and Sale at the Largo Cultural Center on January 16, 17 and 18. Area clubs were invited to display and sell rocks and minerals, cut gems, silver and gold jewelry, inlay work, beading and more. The event was free to the public. Pictured above are PGS officers (from left) Hugh Sheffield, treasurer; Carole Shelton, president; Walter Staats, board of directors; Donna Dotson, secretary; and Don Schlough, vice president. Sheffield and Staats served as co-chairs of the show. The educational non-proft organization meets the fourth Tuesday evening of each month at the Largo Public Library and invites persons interested in rocks and minerals, gems and jewelry making to join its members for informative and entertaining programs, educational lectures, videos and demonstrations and field trips.
