Local Presbyterian Church Welcomes New Pastor
CLEARWATER – Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clearwater will welcome their new pastor, The Rev. Dennis Reid, on February 1. His first two services will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Rev. Reid will soon complete his dissertation at Oxford University and receive a Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus on pastoral leadership in today’s world. The Rev. Reid comes to Trinity from Whitfield Presbyterian Church in Sarasota where as pastor he lead a three-year process to begin a building program to recreate Whitfield which is known as one of the first drive-in churches. The Rev. Reid joined Whitfield in 2003 and over his six-year tenure average weekly church attendance nearly doubled while their youth program grew from only three children to more than 40. Prior to Whitfield, The Rev. Reid served as the Associate Pastor for Membership at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. The Rev Reid and his wife, Kim, have two children; Brittany, 20, is a junior at the Ringling School of the Arts and Brandon, 10, a Bashaw Elementary student in the gifted program. Trinity Presbyterian Church, located in Clearwater at 2001 Rainbow Drive, was founded in 1953. It offers traditional and modern services along with men’s, women’s and children’s bible study programs.
