SWFWMD Grant Will Provide New Signs at ParkCLEARWATER – The Clearwater Parks and Recreation Department received more than $2,000 from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). Grant funds will pay for educational signs at Glen Oaks Park that will provide information about local birds, amphibians, mammals, plants and invasive species found within the park’s wetlands. The new signs will be in addition to two existing signs that explain the history of the property and its watershed functions. Glen Oaks Park is a 28-acre park located at 1345 Court St. that features two regulation size soccer fields, a playground and bicycle/pedestrian walkways. The park is also a wetland habitat, and provides flood protection for homes in the area.
