40th Anniversary Cookbook Nourishes the Body and Spirit

Proceeds Will Benefit 12,000+ At-Risk Youth

CLEARWATER - Drugstore magnate Jack Eckerd’s favorite meatloaf. Gonsoulin Gumbo straight from the bayous of Louisiana. Moose Stew that won top honors at the 14th Annual Moose Festival in Vermont. And Turkey in the Hole, a Thanksgiving recipe for grilling turkey underground in a smoldering pile of ashes for several hours. Those are just a few of the 300 recipes featured in Eckerd Youth Alternatives’ 40th Anniversary Cookbook.

The title of the cookbook is Making it Differently and Making a Difference: From Alfredo Rotini to Zucchini Zhan Weinee.

Printing and production of the commemorative cookbook was underwritten by Jack and Ruth Eckerd’s grandchildren. SunTrust bank also donated $2,500 to cover cookbook promotional costs. Proceeds from the cookbook will benefit the Jack and Ruth Eckerd Children’s Success Fund.
