Clearwater Mother of Famous Big Band Era Performer Turns 110Mildred JaMais/Jasme turned 110-years-old on Sunday, February 15th. A birthday party at the Clearwater Morton Plant Mease Rehabilitation facility, where she resides, was held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday Feb. 13th. Mildred is the mother of recently deceased Connie Haines, a 1940’s Big Band era singer/dancer who performed with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, George Burns, etc. Mildred acted as Connie’s manager. They moved to Clearwater in 1985 from Los Angeles because Connie was receiving more work here in Florida at that time in her career.
