Safety Harbor and Clearwater East Rotary to Hold Ernie Thomas Memorial Golf TournamentBy Renee BurrellCLEARWATER - Golfers are invited to participate in the Ernie Thomas Memorial Golf Tournament held Sunday March 8, at East Lake Country Club, North Course. The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation along with other charities including, Students for Tomorrow’s Leaders, Clothes to Kids, Suncoast YMCA, Faces of Courage, Countryside High School Interact and many others will be the beneficiaries of funds raised. Registration will be held from 12:15-1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start scheduled at 1:15 p.m. Team competition will use the best ball system. The entry fee is $125 per player or $475 per foursome. This includes green fees, carts, practice balls and the awards dinner. Also each golfer will be given a REPLAY CERTIFICATE for a foursome to play East Lake Woodlands Country Club again for only $25 each. Contests: closest to the pin, longest drive, putting and hole-in-one. Trophies awarded for foursome with low gross score and the top 2 foursomes in two handicapped flights.
