Clearwater Audubon Society's Upcoming Events.

Monday, 3/2, 7:30 pm, Clearwater Audubon Monthly Meeting, Moccasin Lake Nature Park 2750 Park Trail Lane, Clearwater, Contact:  727-462-6024. Guest Speaker:  Barbara Walker, Topic:  Bald Eagles in Pinellas County. For over 15 years, many volunteers have participated in Audubon of Florida's Eagle Watch program and observed eagles throughout their recovery and process of removing them from the list of endangered birds. Come and learn about Champion Eagle Bander Charles Broley and how the numbers of bald eagles around Tampa Bay and Merritt Island have been thought to be possibly the densest breeding concentration of a large raptor known in the world.  We will discuss the current status of bald eagles in Pinellas County and how our population of birds compares to state numbers from 2008. We will provide a current status of the eagle boom in Pinellas County as well. Bald eagles are a species of great conservation need, so please join us and learn how you can help.
