Clearwater Civitan Club Soliciting New Coin and Candy Box LocationsThe Clearwater Civitan Club Coin and Candy Box Fund is nearly depleted. The fund is dedicated to helping physically and mentally challenged persons in the community. The Clearwater Civitan Club began the fiscal year by donating money from this fund to Paul Stevens Exceptional Training Center, Calvin Hunsinger School, and Florida State Special Olympics. Special requests from the Civitan International Research Center, the Suncoast Epilepsy Association, and Horses for the Handicapped were answered. Civitan’s promised sponsorship of a team in the Challenger Division of the Clearwater Little League was met, along with hands on help manning the refreshment stand during their games in January and February. Having written $3500 in checks, the Clearwater Civitan Club noticed income from its regular Coin and Candy Box locations has been lagging. In order to pick up some of the natural shortfall in these times the Club must try to increase the number of locations that will allow them to place their fundraising boxes on a small space on these new location counters. Clearwater Civitan Club members will be out in the community asking merchants for permission to do so, allowing the Club to continue its efforts to help other people in Pinellas County,
