MLK/ Largo Library – Letter sent to Largo CommissionersCommissioners: After reading the Gazette article about the newly installed MLK tribute in the library, watching the citizens comment from the last commission meeting and ultimately visiting the library in person to see the MLK tribute itself, I must say the speaker who said, paraphrasing, 'get it fixed or get our tax money back' is correct. The MLK tribute does NOT look like Dr. King...I don't know who it is but it's not him. We respectively disagree with the city manager who stated, basically, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This type of tribute should be nothing more than a reproduction of a photo not an artist’s interpretation of what they think a person looked like. Our vote, get it fixed or get our tax money back. - Samantha Carter
