Then Visit the Historic Plumb House MuseumThe Clearwater Bombers were the 10-time World Champion Men's Softball Team and if you want to see uniforms and pictures of this record-setting group of athletes, catch one of the free tours offered by the Clearwater Historical Society available from 8:30 a. m. until 11:30 a. m. on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Saturday through May 2nd, 2009. The Plumb House, located at 1380 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Clearwater, is the birthplace of Mary and Kathleen Plumb. It is an original Cracker-Style house built circa 1896. Kathleen Plumb was an early principal of South Ward Elementary School and Jennie Reynolds Plumb, Mary and Kathleen's grandmother, was Clearwater's first paid public school teacher. Plumb Elementary School is named after the Plumb family. The Plumb House, now known as the Historic Plumb House Museum, houses period furnishings, vintage photographic collections, artifacts and many documents and items of historical significance, including yearbooks from Clearwater High School, and the Clearwater Bombers memorabilia.
