Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisPicture this! There you are on a Wednesday morning and you wonder if there isn't a place where you can move around a little bit, be with some fun people and have some laughs. You can, you know. Right over there at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center and Library a new adventure, called Wii, is waiting for you. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Wednesday mornings, the Clearwater Beach Library sponsors Wii sessions where you, alone, or with a friend, can play tennis, baseball, wrestling, or golf from a comfortable chair, if you choose. It's unbelievable how you swing the "wand" you are holding, just as you would a golf club and the ball goes whistling away, or not, depending on how you swing your arm. Don't ask me! I don't know how it works either. Better still, if you can grasp how to operate computer games, you might want to volunteer to be in charge of the Wii game at least one Wednesday a month and help other people play it. It's a great way to have a new adventure and meet new people. Call Pat Power at 446-0929 if you'd like to volunteer. And, if you like good reading at a low price, you might want to check out the Friends of the Library used book sale, which will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 26 through 28 at the Main Library down town on Osceola Avenue. Book sale times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Don't forget: The Clearwater Beach Recreation Center Pool is now open. The movie on the Beach for April 13, at 10 a.m. is Memoirs Of A Geisha, starring Ziyi Zhang and Ken Watanabe. And, the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be in Mandalay Park on Friday, April 10, at 6 p.m. Call 462-6138 i f you want more information.
