Library CafeI took a call from a gentleman about the Library's cafe. He said he feels the library is no place for a cafe but that the owner is being treated unfairly by the Commission. He wondered if the Mayor and Commissioners have ever eaten at the cafe before giving remarks about the food. He also said he thinks it wrong to try to compare the library cafe with the golf cafe. People come to the library to borrow books, DVDs, do research, use computers, etc., so they do not have to spend money on these items. People who go to the golf course have money to spare and expect to spend it. The gentleman also said that maybe the owner hadn't done her homework well enough before deciding to open a cafe but, from his viewpoint, it seems she has worked hard at making a go of it. She should get a break. Shirley Frick, Mayor/Commission Secretary, City of Largo
