“Books are for the Birds” Program at Palm Harbor Library

PALM HARBOR – It’s spring in Florida and the “snowbirds” have left -- but now the baby birds have arrived!  To celebrate this time of year, the Palm Harbor Library is offering a special program for kids and families, entitled “Books Are for the Birds!”  This dual program will feature appearances by the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary and Don Toll, author of a wonderful story about a particular seagull named Mac MacSeagull of Boothbay Harbor.

Miss Michelle of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary will bring one of her feathered friends and teach children about the do’s and don’ts of handling wild baby birds or injured birds they may find.  The program will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m.; no pre-registration is necessary.  The recommended minimum age for children is three years old.

The library is located at 2330 Nebraska Avenue in Palm Harbor.  For further information, please call the Youth Services Department at (727) 784-3332, Ext. 3018.
