Fishing Tourney Makes a Difference

Robbie Kaiser, at left with grandmother Brenda Kaiser, and Joey Crl, front center, show the miniature fire trucks they were presented for their showing in the Make A Difference Fishing Tournament for children and adults with disabilities at Largo Central Park Nature Preserve earlier this month. The two award winners got to meet Largo Fire Rescue (at back l-r) Fire Explorers Chelsea Keith and Ryan Melander, firefighter/paramedic Scott Halisky and firefighter/paramedic Matt Handwerk at the event, which also featured fire rescue demonstrations, art projects and a cookout.

(from left) Ashley Armstrong, 24, Jeremy Keyser, 7, and Lia Phagan, 8, are ready to wrap up a morning of fishing at Largo Central Park Nature Preserve earlier this month. The three were among the some 100 participants in the Make A Difference Fishing Tournament, a special event for children and adults with disabilities.
