Letter sent to Clearwater City Council and City ManagerOn Saturday the 17th at approximately 12:30 a.m. a large tour bus, bringing tourists to the short term-rental across the street (770 Mandalay Ave.), pulled in front of our house and unloaded noisey passengers and numerous large coolers. On Sunday the 19th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the large tour bus was parked on Mango Street. blocking one lane of traffic while they loaded clothing, skateboards and a side walk full of coolers. How could 30 to 40 tourists live and sleep in that small house? What is the limit in a single family home? Board of health? Fire protection? Utility overload? Annual inspection? Don’t you think our city zoning laws should be protecting us here where we are zoned Residential? Whoever got a “ grandfathered-in” waiver concerning short-term rentals is now contracting to bring in tour bus business. Has the rentor no responsibility? If they abuse the waiver do they lose it? Please enlighten us. This is also business taken away from established hotels and restaurants. Billie and Charley Shank, Clearwater
