235 Years Later, a Tea Party in Clearwater

Photos/text by Renee Burrell

CLEARWATER - Protesters lined the front of the Pinellas County Court House at noon Tax Day, April 15, with tea bags, signs and flags, including the "Don't Tread on Me" Gadsden flag. But most of the commotion from the assembly came from hundreds of drivers who honked their horns as they passed to sound their agreement. Eight hundred tea parties were held across the country April 15. Organized by a national grassroots movement against government spending called Taxed Enough Already (TEA), www.TaxDayTeaParty.com is their home base where information for future demonstrations can be obtained.
