Danger To Children – E-mails to Largo CommissionersTuesday night of last week I contacted the public works group about a hazard. On the west side of Clearwater Largo Road, about a block north of Mildred Helms Elementary, there is an empty house with a swimming pool filled with stagnant, brown water. Recently, two panels of the rotting stockade fence blew down exposing the pool to schoolchildren walking by. I completely understand the position the city is in because the hazard is on private property, but I'm sure the parent of a child who falls in isn't going to be as understanding as I am. I would ask that some action to board off the dangerous opening be taken immediately. - Robert A. Croslin

To: Largo Commissioners We've seen that the pool has been drained, cemented, and the fence back up and I just wanted to thank all who were involved in preventing that from becoming one of those awful stories on the evening news. You guys are the reason we've lived in Largo all these many years. Thank you for chasing this down. Bob and Beth Coslin
