
Police Lieutenant Michael Sahr Promoted to CaptainCLEARWATER – Clearwater Police Lieutenant Michael Sahr has been promoted to the rank of Police Captain. Captain Sahr will serve as the department’s Criminal Investigations Division Commander, overseeing the department’s criminal investigations including: homicides, robberies, crimes against children and families and burglaries. Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein presented Captain Sahr with Captain bars during a promotion ceremony. "Captain Sahr is a talented and skilled professional with all the right tools and experience to command CPD's Criminal Investigation Division, which continues to have a crime clearance rate well above the national average," said Chief Klein. Captain Michael Sahr is a 27-year veteran with the Clearwater Police Department. Prior to his promotion, Sahr served as the Assistant Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division. He has also served and commanded the department’s SWAT Team, Canine and Training Units. Captain Sahr the recipient of the 2009 Public Safety and Service Award and has received several awards and commendations during his tenure with the department. Captain Sahr’s promotion took effect May 23, 2009.
