Free Basics of Dog Training Seminars Offered For Citizens Adopting from Pinellas County Animal Services

Need a little help with the family pooch? Owners can learn how to turn a good dog adopted from Pinellas County Animal Services into a great family member during a free Learn the Basics of Dog Training seminar.

Beginning in August, one-hour seminars will be held on the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at Animal Services in Largo. The first seminar is set for Saturday, Aug. 1. A Certified Pet Dog Trainer and member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers will teach the seminars. These seminars are for citizens who have adopted dogs from Animal Services. Professional advice will be offered on housetraining, loose-leash walking, chewing, jumping and other behavioral challenges. Understanding the basics of positive behavior benefits both owners and their canine friends. It also helps dogs become a pleasure to be around, with good manners on display in a crowd, at home, with children and even during a walk in the neighborhood.

Please note that seminars are for humans only, so dogs should be left at home. For information or to reserve a spot, visit Pinellas County Animal Services. or call (727) 582-2600.
