From LED-HED a Led Zeppelin tribute band to Elvis: The Show Goes On! There is sure to be something that you can rock to. Little Pals Play & Picnic - August 4th, 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave. Enjoy the companionship of other parents and caregivers while our children play at the park and picnic with friends. Watch a movie with your friends or family on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each Summer month. The new screen and projector will make you feel like you are in the theater. Call 518-3125 for the movie selection. Coed 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments - August 8th and 15th, Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Rd. Get in the game with these fun and competitive one-day tournaments in the newly renovated Southwest gym. Each team is guaranteed three games, and each team member will receive a tournament t-shirt. Skateboarding Lessons - August 14th, 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Highland Skate Park, 400 Highland Ave. Gulf Coast Skate Shop will sponsor prizes and giveaways during this competition of the game S.K.A.T.E. and Best Trick. All skaters must have liability waiver on file; skaters under 18 years old must have parent sign their waiver form. Helmets are required. For more information please call 518-3016. Sunset Sounds - August 14th, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Ulmer Park 301 West Bay Drive. This free music series showcases the diversity of local and regional musicians on the second Friday of every month. Dine at a nearby restaurant or bring a picnic supper. Sprawl out on your favorite comfy blanket and spend some time with your family and friends as you unwind from the week and set the tone for a great weekend. August Rocks in Largo Central Park - August 15th, 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive. Rock the park. A new band will claim the stage at 3p, 5p, 7p, and 9p, leaving plenty of time to explore the motorcycle show, shop the merchandise, and indulge the festival foods. Check out Emily's Ashes, Stones Throw, Crossroads, Nuthin Fancy with the concert headliner to be announced. Beer is available for attendees over 21 years of age. G2-GO Green Series - August 15th, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Southwest Complex, 13120 Vonn Rd. The Go Green Series is offered the 3rd Saturday of the month. Presented by Largo Parks Staff and/or Friends of Largo Parks. "Green" themes help community members achieve an environmentally responsible lifestyle. Free to the public.
