Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisFree movies, dancing, exercise and a pool party are on deck for the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center this week. Films on the bluff will feature "Wild Horse Redemption" at the Beach Library on Monday, August 10, at 10 a.m. The story is about a team of inmates at a prison in the Colorado Rocky Mountains who are given 90 days to tame wild mustangs. Most of the inmates who volunteer for this program have never ridden a horse before. Or you can learn to dance, Greek, Latin or Ballroom on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. with a master instructor. Next week's computer instruction will be about spread sheets, budgets and address books. Call 462-6138 to make a reservation for this one. And, the monthly Frog Fridays party will be at the Rec pool on August 14. And, of course, the rest of the time there are books to read, computers to use, videos to check out and the pool to swim in. Hearing about the other communities who are expecting to lose their library and recreation facilities should put the Clearwater Islands residents in a mood to use theirs. I said it, and I'm glad!
