Nature Park Program Attracts Summer CampersPhotos/text by SANDI FAHY
Participants in the summer camp program at George C. McGough Nature Park in Largo are pictured by the large papier-mache turtle they created under the direction of recreation leader Tabatha Spence, at left. Spence was demonstrating the correct way to apply handprints to the turtle at the time of the photo. Each of the children had the opportunity to brush their hands with paint and then decorate the turtle with colorful handprints.
George C. McGough Nature Park specialist Barbara Stalbird, far left, displays the facility's resident rat snake while posing for a photo with this year's summer teen volunteers on a recent afternoon. The volunteers, from left, are Gina Gallo, Lea Mandel and Gabby Fisher.
