Clearwater/St. Petersburg Ski and Sports Club Announces Kickoff Meeting and Fundraising Event
As Pinellas County's only snow ski club, the club will be holding its 26th annual kickoff meeting Friday, August 21st, at the Bilmar Beach Resort, 10650 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island. Starting at 7 p.m., this event will showcase the club's six (6) winter ski trips for the upcoming season and kickoff fundraising efforts for the Bay Pines Disabled American Veterans.
With trips planned to Beaver Creek, CO; Telluride, CO; Vail, CO; Taos, NM; Jackson Hole, WY; and Three Valleys, France, there will be trips for all levels of skiers at various price ranges.
This season marks the 26th anniversary of their "Not for Profit" Clearwater/St. Pete Ski and Sports Club, commonly known as the Snowsharks.
It is also the first of several planned fundraising events for the Bay Pines disabled veterans. Funds raised will help these veterans attend the Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass, CO in March 2010. This unique rehab clinic is held every year; but due to the cost of travel only a handful of the veterans have been able to attend. The club will be hosting a silent auction at this event to start off their fundraising efforts. All donations will be accepted for this worthy auction to help support the vets.
Details about the club's trips, social events, and the Winter Sports Clinic can be found on their Web site, www.snowshark.org.
