
Registration for Fall Programs Under Way in Belleairby Sandi Fahy
Photo by SANDI FAHY BELLEAIR - The Town of Belleair Recreation Department is currently registering youth for fall programs. Lori Benton will be the instructor for the Kulinary Kids classes which begin September 3. There will be classes for "growing chefs" (ages 8-11) on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. "Little chefs" (ages 5-7) will meet on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children ages 2-4 may be enrolled in the "mini chefs" classes which will take place on Fridays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Participants in this age group must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. The young chefs will learn the basics--how to use kitchen equipment and utensils--and how to cook healthy meals and snacks for family and friends. Activities will be geared to each age level. Cost is $40 for four classes. Space is limited. Only 10 children can be accepted per age group. For more information, call 215-7558. The Belleair Flag Football League for children ages 7-14 will get under way on September 9 and run through October 28. There's a Pee Wee League for ages 7-8, a Junior League for ages 9-10, a Senior League for ages 11-12 and a Varsity League for ages 13-14. There will be six regular season games and two playoff games. Games are scheduled Wednesday evenings. Cost is $55 (member), $70 (non-member). Coaches are needed. Call the Belleair Recreation Department at 518-3728 for further information. The Lunchtime Pilates class for adults continues on Wednesdays. Time is noon to 1 p.m. Instructor is Sue Riley. Jean Case will conduct the Hatha Yoga sessions scheduled on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Belleair Recreation Department is located at the Dimmitt Community Center, 918 Osceola Road.
