Special Programs

  • 9/02 - 10am: Understanding Fibromyalgia: A holistic approach to chronic pain and fatigue. Dr. Patricia Snair will discuss safe, natural alternative methods for addressing fibromyalgia and chronic pain symptoms.
  • 9/08 - 7pm: Author Chip Haynes - If you're interested in leaving a smaller footprint on the planet, attend for an evening with Chip Haynes, who will discuss and sign his book Wearing Smaller Shoes.
  • 9/30 - 7pm: Marshall Frank, author and retired Metro-Dade police captain, will discuss and sign his latest book Criminal Injustice in America.

Computer Classes - All classes meet in Community Room A. Classes are in lecture form with demonstrations. They meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, and Wednesdays at 7pm. For more information, call 298-3080, ext 230.

Genealogy Assistance - The Caladesi Chapter of the DAR will assist you Thursdays from 1-4pm in study room 4.

Dunedin Writers Group - Open to serious writers, the Dunedin Writers Group focuses on novels, short stories, children's books, synopses for agents, presentation letters, and more. Fridays at 10am.

Free Medicare Counseling With S.H.I.N.E. -The S.H.I.N.E. agency of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs offers free, unbiased counseling on Medicare and other health-related issues every Wednesday. To make an appointment, call 298-3080, ext 253.

Literacy Council of Upper Pinellas - The Literacy Council of Upper Pinellas, located at the Dunedin Public Library, is looking for tutors. Training is provided. For more information, call 298-3080, ext 242.

Youth Services -

  • 9/01 - 10am: Storytime @ the Dunedin Community Center: theme-Barnyard Fun. Ages 5 & under.
  • 9/05 - 2pm: Family Saturday Stories: theme-Roly Polies.
  • 9/13 - 1pm: Sunday Fun Day: stop in the youth department for a make & take craft. Theme-Grandparents are Great!
  • 9/14 - 3pm: Melody Hounds: in conjunction with the PBS series Lomax, the Hound of Music TM and the curriculum of Dr. John Feierabend - a program to enhance your child's musical development. Ages 5 and under.
  • 6:30pm: DYV Meeting: teen volunteer group meets once a month to plan, assist & create programs for the youth of the community.
  • 9/16 - 6:30pm: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: celebrate the new movie based on Judi Barrett's book. Make crafts, play games & enjoy a tasty treat. Ages 5-12. Registration required.
  • 9/17 - 4:30pm: Meet the Boxcar Children: make a craft, hear a story & make a special keepsake. Ages 5-12. Registration required.
  • 9/19 - 2pm: Warrior Cats: defend your clan, defend your land. Cat snack provided. Ages 10-15. Registration required.
  • 9/21 - 3pm: Melody Hounds: in conjunction with the PBS series Lomax, the Hound of Music TM and the curriculum of Dr. John Feierabend - a program to enhance your child's musical development. Ages 5 and under.
  • 9/25 - 10:30am: Special Storytime: Construction Junction-hear stories, sing songs, and make a craft about building with big equipment. Ages 5 & under. Registration required.
  • 9/28 - 3pm: Melody Hounds: in conjunction with the PBS series Lomax, the Hound of Music TM and the curriculum of Dr. John Feierabend - a program to enhance your child's musical development. Ages 5 and under.
  • 6pm: Twilight of Grandeur author Mary T. Dresser: have a great time with history. Ages 12 & up. Registration required.
  • Mondays @ 10:00am - Baby & Me: ages birth-18 months
  • Tuesdays @ 3:00pm - Read with a Furry Friend: read with Cherry or Debbie, the therapy dogs.
  • Wednesdays @ 10 & 11am - Toddler Time: ages 18-36 months
  • Thursdays @ 10:30am - Preschool Storytime: ages 3-5
